Foundations Course: Winter 2012

This course is for those who are interested in learning more about, or refreshing their understanding of the biblical foundations of our faith. The winter 2012 session will run every Sunday from 9:00 – 10:20 am at the University of Calgary in room ST135, beginning February 5th. The format of the course will include 20 – 30 minutes of teaching, followed by a half hour discussion time in a small groups led by a facilitator. Topics that will be covered include:

Week 1: Truth – what is the Truth and how can we know it?

Week 2: The Lordship of Christ

Week 3: Repentance and Water Baptism

Week 4: The Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts

Week 5: How to live a New Life

Whether you are new to UChurch or you’ve been part of our community for a while, please join us this Sunday, November 21 for a ‘Welcome to the Family’ meet-and-greet gathering!

We will be discussing the fundamentals of what our ministry is all about, both uniquely as UChurch, and with respect to the bigger picture – our relationship with the international Every Nation Ministries. Also, you will have an opportunity to learn about UChurch Home Groups, and how to pursue your own leadership development by getting involved with our many serving teams.

Date: Sunday, November 21, 2010

Time: 12:30 – 2:00pm (immediately after the church service)

Location: room ST135 (directly down the hall from our regular meeting room)

The spring 2010 session will run every Sunday from 9:00 – 10:20 am at the University of Calgary in room ST135, beginning March 21st and ending April 25th (there will be no course on April 4th for Easter). The format of the course will include 20 – 30 minutes of teaching, followed by 40 minutes of one-on-one interaction with a coach. Topics that will be covered include:

The format of the course will include 20 – 30 minutes of teaching, followed by 40 minutes of one-on-one interaction with a coach. Topics that will be covered include:

Foundations

Our foundations class is back with a great new line up of teachers/ facilitators and some fresh material/ perspective!

Classes begin April 5th and will run for 5 weeks, skipping Easter Sunday. (April 5, 19, 26 and May 3 and 10)

Foundations is an interactive class teaching the basics and foundations of the faith. It is great for new believers or for those who have walked with Jesus for a while, but would like to grow more in their relationship with Him. Topics will include, “What is truth?”, “Can we know Truth?”, Spiritual Formation, Following Christ, and Baptism.

It will be held Sundays at 9:15AM, prior to service, with a short lecture, around 20 minutes followed by one on one or small group interactive discussion time.
