Ladies Hiking Day Trip

UChurch gals, its your turn to go adventuring in the great outdoors! Our very own Kim Miller has organized this super cool opportunity for UChurch ladies to hang out and get to know each other a little better, while enjoying the fresh Alberta mountain air! Keep reading for details:

Date: Saturday, May 7

Time: 9:00am (meet up time) - 6:00pm

Location: Karst Spring in Kananaskis

Transportation: Everyone is to meet at the East Edworthy Park parking lot (located at the intersection of Bowness Road & Shaganappi Trail NW) at 9:00am. The parking lot is to the west of this intersection and you can park all day for free. From there we will carpool out to Karst Spring. Driving directions will be provided when we meet at the parking lot.

What: Easy hike, approximately 10km return

*We will be going rain, shine or snow so please dress accordingly. Please bring a lunch and water for the hike. There may be muddy or rough terrain depending on weather / snow thaw, so bring appropriate footwear, rain jacket, etc.

Moms and Muffins

If you are a mom with young kids, we want to love on you! Join us on Thursday, June 17th for a morning of chats and snacks as we discuss the topic of ”our identity as women and as mothers.” And if you’ve never joined us for Moms and Muffins before, all the better! We can’t wait to meet you!

Date: Thursday, June 17th

Time: 9:30 – 11:30 am

Location: Brentview Baptist Church (3512 Charleswood Drive NW) – childcare is provided on the lower level of the church

Cost: $10 per mom for babysitting (provided by UChurch volunteers)

2010 UChurch Women’s Retreat

Ladies, come away with us as we embark on a relaxing (yet adventurous) retreat at River’s Edge Camp and Retreat Centre.

Dates: Friday, March 12 – Sunday, March 14, 2010

Location: River’s Edge Camp and Retreat Centre (just outside Cremona, AB)

Registration: register by filling out the forms made available at Sunday morning celebrations

Cost: $160 each, or $125 for students

Adorn your favorite outfit, leave the stresses of your life at home, and join the Uchurch ladies for an evening of fun, fellowship, and chocolate!

Open to ALL women, ages 14 to 100 years!

When you ask? Thursday, November 26th @7pm

Where? The beautiful, newly renovated Rutland Park Community Centre (3130 – 40 Avenue SW)… Yes, ladies that is SW NOT NW!! Nice and central for those of us who live in both the south AND the north:)

Cost? $10/person (but please don’t let finances stop you from coming!

Directions? From Crowchild Trail..

Go west on 33 Ave SW
Turn left onto Sarcee Road SW
Turn right on 40 Ave SW
The parking lot is just past the community centre on your right hand side

Location: Rivers Edge Camp (1 hour NW of Calgary)

Registration:$135 Regular // $110 Full-Time student Rate. Please register at the info table just before and after the service on Sunday, October 12 & 19th. Space is Limited.
