Campus Harvest began in the US in 1990 with a mission to “Revolutionize Campus Ministry by Mobilizing the Local Church.” Soon after its inception, Campus Harvest started a one week training program for students called the “Harvest Institute”, which for the first time ever is coming to Calgary!
From August 30 – September 3, 2010, University of Calgary students will have the incredible opportunity to participate in Campus Harvest Institute – 5 days of training and transformation in an intense, interactive setting. Renowned speakers from across Canada and the US will speak on an array of topics, including:
evangelism – Understand the central story of the world, God’s good news of Jesus Christ, and learn to communicate the gospel simply, relevantly, and powerfully.
apologetics – Gain priceless insight into the post-modern mind of this generation, as well as biblical wisdom to handle the questions and challenges with which believers are confronted on the campus today.
leadership – Learn the foundations of Christian leadership and how to be an influence in your sphere on your campus.
practical skills – Be equipped with the necessary skills of effective ministry, such as leading successful small groups, making disciples, administering the baptism of the Holy Spirit and counseling.
devotion – Be inspired in life’s highest pursuit and take home practical training to excel in the spiritual disciplines of scripture study, prayer, and fasting.
