You may have noticed the necessary re-routing last Sunday!  This was because of construction that has been going on at the UofC, causing Campus Drive to be closed between May 1 and August 1.  However, the parking lot that we typically use – P21 – IS NOT closed; if can be accessed from alternate routes.  Please read the notice below for more information, and check out the map to find the route that will work best for you.

“After several years of major construction, we are now nearing completion of our largest capital expansion ever with four major projects on main campus—the Taylor Family Digital Library (TFDL), the Energy Environment and Experiential Learning (EEEL) Building, the Phase VI Residence, and the Central Heating Plant Upgrade—scheduled to be completed and opened within the next 12 months.

Here are more details of the road and sidewalk closures and detours you will see this spring and summer.

EEEL Building

The EEEL Building will offer students improved opportunities for experiential—or hands-on—learning in multiple fields. It also provides office and research space for students, faculty and staff as part of the 1,000 student Energy & Environment expansion, and will be the home for interdisciplinary units such as ISEEE. It is scheduled to open April 2011.

Closures:

  • Effective May 1, 2010, Campus Drive from the 32 Avenue gateway to the entrance of Lot 19 and the loading area for the science buildings will close to all traffic. It will re-open in time for the beginning of classes in September.
  • Included in the EEEL landscaping package is the development of better sidewalks along 32 Avenue. This requires temporary re-location of the transit stops to the opposite side of 32 Avenue, in front of the Petro Canada building. Parking lot access will be available from the south only.”
