Men’s Retreat: So Worth It

I don’t know what the primary objective of the men’s retreat was, but I enjoyed it – so hopefully that counts for something.  No guest speakers.  No minute-by-minute scheduling.  This was a flexible weekend of getting to know the guys I (apparently) go to church and small group with every week.

It was not theoretical, it was guys sharing their stories. Guys like me;  some older, some younger – all hungry to do right by our God and by our family and none of us sure exactly how to do it.

Soccer, basketball, electric fences, campfires, the hint of cigar smoke, and a sense of camaraderie were the impressions I’ll take with me.

I learned I need to invest in the other guys in the church.  They’re worth it.  I hope someone else got the sense that they should invest in me.  I’m starting to think I’m worth it, too.
