We’ll be gathering x 2 on Resurrection Sunday, March 31st

Easter Sunday is approaching!   Let’s Celebrate!

As a child, Easter for me was about chocolate bunnies, playing hide and seek with chocolate eggs, and good food.  I was clueless about why people put aside a whole weekend to celebrate new life.  No one had shown me or told me what the real deal was.  By the time I got to university, I dumped the chocolate eggs and concluded easter was simply a religious observance for those churchy people who believed in fairy tales.  Looking back, I realize I had never been invited to anything, resembling a celebration.  Things changed early one morning when He answered my desperate, lonely, disillusioned cry for proof that the invisible could be real.  Once you have met love, you have met him, and the real story begins to unfold… a relationship that makes everything new.

This Sunday, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the ultimate expression of love. First, we will gather for a sunrise celebration for those willing to brave the elements.  Secondly, we will gather later in the morning to share some stories, sing, celebrate some testimonies of new life, and snack on some goodies.  New life is growing more within us.

If you haven’t invited anyone, it’s not too late to consider asking Father if there is anyone in your world that He would like to show love to.  It will be a “true” family reunion, joy-filled, unique, and unreligious!  He lives within us so when we gather to celebrate, He will flow through us.  Let’s celebrate with Him!  The kingdom is a party!  What’s God like? Ponder the math of Jesus’ first miracle - turning water into wine. What kind of person brings the equivalent of about 900 bottles of the best wine to the tail end of a party?

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and, we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!

- ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:15-17‬ ‭MSG‬‬

It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you, (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!"

For those who want to join us for the Sunrise Celebration, we’ll be meeting at 7 am in anticipation of sunrise at 7:20 am.

We’ll meet at the Dale Hodges Meeting Place to park. Then we'll walk over to the ridge.

The second part of this celebration will be at Bow Commons, so come at 10 am if you want to help set up and/ or if you want to pray with Chelm at 10:10 am.

Activities are planned for kids eight and under, so bring the whole family, and a friend to join the celebration. See you this Sunday!
