Hi UChurch Family,
Unique times are here! A whole lot has been unfolding around us in the past couple of days in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The U of C is currently accessing the recommendations from Alberta Health Services about whether to cancel events/classroom bookings which of course includes our Sunday meeting place.
Although we have to wait to see what the U of C will determine in regards to their space, we will have some options that the spirit will present to us in the days ahead.
This Sunday (March 15) we will not meet corporately at the U of C. However, we do encourage any of you to gather in homes as led. Stay tuned to the web site, a few people have been discussing the possibility of meeting for some prayer and intercession.
As a church family we want to do what we can to love and care for the health of our friends and neighbours. We also choose to honour and cooperate with the wisdom and recommendations of our government and health professionals to stop the spread of this virus.
This is a unique time for the Global Church. It’s in these unique times where the family of God flourishes. As we experience the assurance of His protection, love and peace, we are able to extend His love to those around us.
I encourage all of us to balance the amount of information you choose to digest from news sources with an equal and appropriate amount of time with God. The ability to weather a storm, to be at peace in the midst of a storm, is determined by our ability to be at rest in Him. Rest is a manifestation of being in relationship with Him. In the days and weeks ahead, there will many people around us who will benefit from our love, peace, comfort and support in these times.
Stay connected everyone,
Brant.
