Transformations Course

Hi UChurch Family,

We are gearing up for something new for us!  During the month of April, and into May, we will be hosting the Transformations Course in our Sunday morning gatherings.  Dr. Greg Mitchell will be joining us for 6 weeks to lead us through this exploration of who God is and what it means to follow him.  We will be meeting at our usual time of 10:30, but will have a shortened worship time before we jump right into the course.  We will break up slightly early, to have small group discussions of the topics. It’s going to be fantastic, and definitely something new for our family.

There’s no need to register, however, there will be a workbook available for a small fee, that will allow you to follow the teaching and discussion more thoroughly.  We’re excited for this course, and hope you will be able to join us!

Here’s the information:

Course Intro

Transformations is a six-week course that explores who God is and what it means to follow Him. If life is like a building, then the quality of your life is determined by the quality of its foundation. Whether you are a seasoned believer or a curious inquirer, this course is designed to build your life on a better source of truth, love, and power. The goal is not simply to have you collect better information or behave better; it is to help you engage in a relationship with God that is nothing less than transforming. The Course will take place on the following Sundays: April 2, 9, 23 & 30 and May 7 & 14.

Course Outline

The weekly format is to hear an inspiring lesson and engage in small group discussion, and then go deep in personal Bible study during the week. Transformations will walk you through the key elements of experiencing a life-giving relationship with God, one another, and the world. The six topics are:

  • Source – Who is qualified to be our source of truth, love, and power?
  • Repentance What enables me to experience peace and joy?
  • Salvation – How does Jesus give us eternal security and meaningful life purpose?
  • Love – Is true love more than a feeling or an action?
  • Discipleship – How do we relationally mature?
  • Faith – How is trust the foundation of a transformed life?
